As commercialization issue of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) has been rising, understanding its performance characteristic under various driving circumstances became important. In this paper, experimental study of PEMFC’s performance characteristic is evaluated by changing nitrogen and oxygen proportion at cathodic inlet gas under various conditions. Six types of cathodic inlet air are supplied, with different cathodic inlet flow rates and oxygen’s concentrations. In addition, four different working conditions are set, adopting two different temperatures and assuming whether cathodic inlet gas is humidified or not. Increasing the oxygen’s concentration, performance trends are differed compared with using ambient air driving situation. This shows that optimum driving condition can be changed depending on what types of cathodic fuel are utilized.
