Festival costumes have a special form of style other than daily clothes and usually remain in the forms of traditional costumes. In this sense, Chinese Baeja is an ancient Chinese traditional costume. It has a similar shape to Korean Dourumagi, so it can be regarded as a clothes familiar to Koreans. The objective of this study was to develop a festival costume that combines smart clothing technology with Chinese Baeja for both young people and aduits, which they can enjoy both at home and abroad. In this study, a unique form and color of Chinese Baeja is reproduced and investigated of the possibilities of the modernization and globalization of apparel products with the aim of bringing consumers satisfaction through design development. In the consumer satisfaction survey, 15 Chinese tourists and 15 Korean tourists participated in the survey. The questionnaire was analyzed by the 5 point scale method. ①It has practical utilization for the current world because it is a design development that combines traditional culture with modern science and technology. ②It was considered as having the relation with the forms of Hanbok as the Chinese Baeja was perceived by Korean consumers to be similar to Korean Dourumagi. ③By developing the festival costumes that modern people prefer, while maintaining the form of Hanpu, a design that can be used jointly by Korean consumers and Chinese consumers was developed. ④It suggested the possibility of fashion culture exchange through design development and utilization of Chinese traditional clothing. ⑤It also suggested the possibility of developing a cultural tourism product of both countries through studying modern utilization of traditional costume. ⑥It was considered to be satisfying both countries by reflecting the demands of the times for the globalization of fashion.
