This article is about the study on how the Christian education can prepare the raising issues in the age of Science, especially what we call “the Fourth industrial Revolution,” dealing with such as AI and machine learning, ubiquitous and mobile internet, 3G printing, hologram, robot technology, big dater, adaptive learning technology etc. In order to define the meaning of the age of the science, first of all, the author introduces the theories, focusing on Daniel Bell’s “the coming of post-industrial society,” Alvin Toffler’s “the third wave,” and Thomas Kun’s “the structure of scientific revolution.” From their approaches, the nature of the age of today’s science is depicted as the new grand integration or confluence with natural science and social science, but even if their approaches are different from each other.
Moreover, this article points out that even if there have existed continuously the conflict and war between science and religion since the early 19<SUP>th</SUP> century, we need dialogue between science and religion beyond anti-religious or ant-scientistic discrimination and prejudice. In the age of science, however, the author argues that the big problems today’s world is getting deeper and deeper dehumanization and atheism, especially imbued by the fourth industrial revolution that is closely connected with the neo-capitalism together.
In the long run, such the age of today’s science makes the Christian education confronted the task and direction of it in the age of scientific revolution. In this situation, the author suggests 5 tasks for how the Christian education cope with in this age of science.
