Today, many companies try to increase the efficiency of organization operation through resource sharing. Cloud computing is a technology that represents the concept of sharing rather than resource ownership in the use of information technology. Therefore, this study empirically analyzed the role of two types of dependency on vendors(technical and managerial), which is very important for an organization to implement external cloud computing. We also demonstrate empirically the relationship between successful external cloud computing implementations and the expected performance of both types (satisfaction, performance) as well as the moderating effects of vendor trust and organizational supports. A total of 219 data were collected from companies using various external cloud services and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results show that all hypotheses were adopted except for the direct relationship between managerial dependency and successful cloud computing implementation. Based on the results of the study, we discussed important academic and practical implications.

클라우드 컴퓨팅은 외부에 위치한 데이터센터에 IT자원을 집적시키고 필요로 하는 만큼만 분리하여 사용할 수 있기 때문에 기업은 IT투자에 대한 비용을 절감할 수 있고 데이터 관리, 유지 및 보수가 쉬워 업무의 효율성 향상이라는 이점을 가질 수 있다. 하지만 이런 경우, 클라우드 컴퓨팅은 외부의 데이터센터의 IT자원을 이용해야한다는 점과 중앙 서버에 사용자들이 네트워크를 통해 저장하는 데이터가 저장 및 관리된다는 점에서 서비스 공급자에 대한 의존성이 높을 수밖에 없다. 따라서 외부 공급자에 대한 의존성이 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 구현에 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단된다. 공급자에 대한 신뢰와 조직의 다양하고 적절한 지원 역시 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현이나 기업이 기대하는 성과에 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 기존 연구에서는 살펴보지 못한 공급자에 대한 의존성과 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 구현 및 성과 그리고 신뢰와 조직 지원 간의 관계에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 ‘공급자에 대한 의존성이 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현과 기대성과에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인가? 라는 주요 연구 질의에 대한 동기와 해답을 실증 분석을 통해 찾고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 공급자의 의존성 요인을 기술적 의존성과 관리적 의존성으로 제안하고 이들 요인이 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 그리고 성공적인 구현이 만족과 성과라는 기대성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 살펴보았으며 이를 통해 기존 연구와의 차별화를 확보하였다. 또한 공급자에 대한 신뢰와 조직지원이 의존성과 성공적인 구현 그리고 성과와의 관계에서 어떤 역할을 하는지를 실증적 검증을 통해 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 연구모형의 구조방정식 분석 결과, 기술적 의존성은 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 관리적 의존성은 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현은 만족과 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 공급자에 대한 신뢰는 의존성과 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현 간의 관계를 강화시키는 것으로 확인되었으며, 조직 지원은 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현과 기대성과와의 관계를 강화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 성공적인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구현에 대해 조직적 차원에서 이론적, 실무적으로 중요한 시사점을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.
