全球化的发展推动了语言接触引发的语言借用、 混用以及转用等现象。中国延边地区由于其历史、社会文化等各方面原因导致出现多元文化、多重语言使用等现象。过去几十年间, 延边地区的语言使用主要以朝鲜语和中文为主。20世纪90年代中韩建交以后韩国语对延边地区多重语言使用带来了一定的变化。朝鲜语-中文、朝鲜语-韩国语等多种语言接触而生成的语言借用、混用以及转用等现象较好地体现多元文化时代背景下延边地区语言使用的变化以及发展的多样性。
