This study was designed to investigate the impact of the multiple dimensions of organizational culture and organizational commitment on job satisfaction and job performance in an airline context. In addition, we tested the mediating impact of organizational commitment factors and job satisfaction in the proposed research framework. For the empirical analysis, correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and Baron & Kenny’s mediator effect analysis were performed using the SPSS statistical program. The result of the analyses are as follows. Firstly, flight attendant organizational culture factors (group culture, rational culture, and hierarchical culture) significantly influenced affective commitment; rational culture and hierarchical culture significantly affected continuance commitment; and group culture, development culture, and hierarchical culture significantly and positively influenced normative commitment. Secondly, the results also showed that affective and normative commitment factors were positively related to job satisfaction. Thirdly, job satisfaction significantly triggered job performance. Lastly, the significant mediating role of organizational commitment factors and job satisfaction was identified. With these results, this study can provide theoretical implications and practical implications for human resource management in the airline industry.
