Purpose: The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness by analyzing the survey conducted by smart phone application for tinnitus screening, which needs medical and audiological intervention. Methods: For this study, 37 subjects who do not have tinnitus (Group 1) and 20 subjects who have tinnitus but do not feel discomfort (Group 2) were participated. They were required to answer the survey about social, emotional, and physical influence of tinnitus with Likert 5-point scale and 100-point scale. Results: As the average of responded score, Group 1 shows 1, 1.01, and 11, and Group 2 shows 1.02, 1.2, and 1.09 on Likert scale. Plus, Group 1 shows 1, 1.09, and 1, and Group 2 shows 1.19, 2.05, and 1.51 on 2SD scale. Additionally, Group 1 shows 0.57, 0.62, and 0.71, and Group 2 shows 1.87, 7, and 4.22 on 100-point scale. It is also observed that Group 1 has 4.08, 4.24, and 4.6, and Group 2 has 7.85, 27.44, and 17.77 on 2SD scale. Conclusions: Tinnitus is difficult to quantify objectively since it is described by individual patient, and caution is required in case of tinnitus with underlying disorder. Therefore, even if the screening score is in normal range and tinnitus do not cause inconvenience, audiological and neurotologic consultation can be needed.
