The author recently showed "the general relation" between γ^f_ij and γ^g_ij, which represent the direct and indirect input requirements of commodity i to support a unit of final demand of commodity j and the direct and indirect input requirements of commodity i to produce a unit of gross output of commodity j, respectively, in the open static input-output model. As it is well known, each element of the Leontief inverse, c_ij, represents the direct and indirect output requirements to support a unit of final demand. By using "the general relation," we show that γ^f_ij can be decomposed into three different parts as the direct effect[A], the technical indirect[T] and the interrelated indirect effects[R], γ^g_ij a can be decomposed into two different parts as the direct effect [A] and the technical indirect effect[T], and c_ij can be decomposed into four different parts as the final demand itself[I], the direct effect[A], the technical indirect[T] and the interrelated indirect effects[R]. As an output multiplier for sector j is derived from the Leontief inverse, a new concept "input multiplier for sector j," which is defined as the direct and indirect input requirements in all sectors that is necessary in order to produce a unit of output of sector j, also can be derived from the n×n matrix Γ^g==(γ^g_ij) which quantitatively indicates the purely technical relation between inputs and output. Moreover, on the basis of the matrix Γ^g, a technical impact and technical sensitivity coefficients for sector j can be also newly defined as (3-3) and (3-4) respectively. These two coefficients are good indicators which explain the technically backward linkage and technically forward linkage effects respectively. Some empirical estimations of multiplier analysis are presented in the last section for the usefulness of the new concepts found in this paper by using 『1998 input-output tables of Korea』 .
