Considering the influence of Protestantism on today, everyone knows that it has become a major religion in Korean society. Protestantism in Korea has changed and developed in a rapidly changing modern society, but there is still strong conservative aspect. Sometimes, because of this conservative appearance, it is also criticized in modern society. The reason for this conservatism is considered in various aspects such as dichotomous thinking, monotheism, fundamentalism, and so on. But I wanted to find the origin in the identity of our church history right now. In particular, to answer these questions, this paper examined Confucian characteristics and its transformation from the Confucian point of view, which is the core theme of human nature, ethics, and order.
Confucianism sees human nature from good. Thus, it is argued that education reverts to its original nature. This Confucian thought structure influenced the understanding of early Christianity. In other words, it emphasized ethical and practical life for salvation and eter nal life, and it was the understanding of the human nature of early Christianity to view it as a sellection of sin and good human nature. In order to examine this, I tried to look into the Holy Spirit on Sunday, among the manifestations of Chung Yak-yong, Choi Byung-hun’s thoughts, and the history of Korean churches.
