This paper examined the costumes for representation of incense greeting ritual for King Sejo’s Placenta Chamber Stone Columns, called Gabong, surrounding King Sejo’s placenta chamber in September 1462. The high ranking officials, including the officer who delivered the incense and the written prayer, and the governor of Gyeongsang-do, the head official of Seonju-mok and others who received those ritual items, put on a black one-piece garb, Heukdallyeong. In addition to Heukdallyeong, the officers who arrived in Seonju-mok put on Samo, Pumdai, Baekhwa, and Jeong. Damgun, who carried the incense burner put on Cho-geon, Cheong-ui, Hakchang, Hongmokdai, Chunghangjeon and Unhye. Geunjang-inro, who guided the way, worn Ja-geon, Chungdallyeong and jaran, while Saryeong worn Heuklip and Cheollik. The guard of honor which carried the royal flags, Se-uijang, worn three different types’ official uniform depending on the flags. First, the eight royal guards, Uijanggun, who carried Gae and Seon, worn Ceong-ui and Ja-geon, secondly, the ten Uijangguns who carried the large flags ranging from Baektaek-gi to byeokbong-gi worn cheong-ui and pimoja, and lastly, the remaining twelve guards who carried other miscellaneous ceremonry items worn Hong-ui and Pimoja. The music conductor who took charge of the band’s orchestration worn Bok-du, Nokchosam, Ohjeongdai, with black leather shoes, while the court musicians, Akgongs, worn Hwahwabokdu, Hongjusam, and Ohjeongdai. Seori put on Mugakpyeong-jeong-gun, Jing-nyeong, and Doah. In the meantime, of the other officials who belonged to the office of Oeajeon, Hyangris worn black hat called Hukjukbangrip, cotton garb called Jing-nyeong, blue Doah, Haengjeaon and Unhye, while other lower-ranking officials, such as Seoris or Saryeongs who belonged to Seongju-mok, worn Sangchorip and under-eight-grade blue cotton Jing-nyeong, Cheollik or Aekjureum, Doah and Haengjeon, and Unhye or Chohye.
