The purpose of this study is to take into account that members of performing arts groups are important human resources to satisfy the cultural demands of the people and to face the fact that research on their career is necessary. By doing so, this study aims at investigating the impact of job characteristics on career conflict and career withdrawal intention in order to provide practical information on the career management of performing arts employees and member management of performing art groups. The subjects of this study are official members of performing arts groups located in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas, and a total of 210 were used for the final analysis. Data processing was conducted by using regression analysis and the structural equation model analysis. The results are as follows. First, it was found that the job characteristics of performing arts employees had negative relationship with career conflict. Second, it was found that the job characteristics of performing arts employees formed a negative relationship with career withdrawal intention as well. Third, it was found that career conflict of performing arts employees formed a positive relationship with career withdrawal intention. Therefore, this implies the need for proactive management by each performing arts groups on the job characteristics elements of its employees. In particular, interest should be taken on their career management to minimize negative attempts to change their career midway into their career.
