Exhibitions have an important role as an effective means in integrated marketing for the sharing of up- to-date information and promotion of new products. In light of this potential, the purpose of this study is to provide medical tourism marketers with the implications of creating a marketing development strategy. This study verified the factors that determine the visit motivations to medical tourism exhibition by utilizing an importance-satisfaction analysis that was carried out from various perspectives through importance -performance analysis(IPA). This analysis abstracted factors in visit motivation including attributes in education, professionalism, information, exchange, and deviation. The major findings were that first, most of satisfaction items fell short of expectation and the importance-performance analysis showed attributes of education and information in Quadrant I, exchange in Quadrant II, professionalism and deviation in Quadrant III in the importance-performance analysis. Thus, marketers should focus their resources on improving the attribute of exchange. Second, employees show more significant differences in their value for the importance-satisfaction items than non-employees, which means the employees are much more selective of items. The core priority attributes in visit motivation to both groups were the attributes of information and education. Third, the employees of medical tourism were more unsatisfied than non-employees, and they perceived the items of importance more positively than non-employees, which means marketer should apply the differentiated strategies to those two groups.
