This study tried to explore diverse types of escaping and resisting meanings endorsed by modern women`s leisure experiences, in the perspective of the feminist. Accepting the common conclusions and viewpoints of the modern researchers on this issue, this study aimed to analyze some distinctive leisure phenomena of modern Korean women. Using qualitative methods, five rounds of Focus Group Interviews with 21 women were performed, followed by content analysis. After transcribing the recorded interview data, initial frame of content analysis was done. Dependent on the initial frame, all data were analyzed and reversely tried to refine the theoretical frame of analysis through discussions and rereading of the data. A final theoretical frame of women`s leisure experience was proposed by repeated content analysis of the interview data. As a result, escaping and resisting meanings of women`s leisure were categorized into four types as well as the ideal type to resolve paternalistic conflict to search for harmony. Regarding the issue of variables on individual difference, some limitations and implications of this study were discussed in the conclusion.
