The weak states who have weak security power compared to great powers keep their security by using security power of great powers through alliances with great powers. However, these asymmetric alliances between a great powers and weak states not only can keep the security of weak states but also can limit the behaviors of weak states. Security-Autonomy alliance dilemma and Abandonment-Entrapment alliance dilemma are representative examples. The theories about the alliance dilemma explain why the alliance dilemma occurs and what shape it has, but can not explain how the weak states manage and overcome the alliance dilemma. In this study, the types managing the alliance dilemma of the weak states were defined as a compromising adjustment, a self security propulsion and a diplomatic diversification by modifying the Royalty, Voice and Exit that Hirschman had suggested as the responses on the backward step of enterprises, organizations and nations. Also, this study considered the stability of regional international system, fusible resources of a nation and legitimacy of a leader as factors affecting on the types and searched for the relationship among them.
