Talchum(Mask dance) has intended to overcome every contradiction and discord of society to make new social order. It has also given collective amusement removing personal and collective discord which was caused by society. Talchum, Korea`s unique body culture, has had the largest number of medium for the expression and it is also synthetic and its nature has music and dance. Since 1970`s its basic movements have been mainly studied in the respect of dance. However, it has filed to find out various factors from the basic movements though the study has revealed tangible movemets of Talchum and characterized its movements. After Use middle of 1980`s a number of theses on Talnoli(mask-play) has been presented The theses have been done to secure various new traditional dances. In this respect, therefore, the regional analysis of Talchum for its shape, stage, movements and traditional succession are as follows: The figure and behavior of the mask are well expressed according to the character and feature of each role in the play. Every region has the common character : the movements of Talchum are imitation of the nature, hunting. agricultural behavior, social expression and emotional expression. The theaters of regional Talchum are performed by the players and audience together with the farmer`s musical instrument. When it is studied in the aspects of traditional succession, its movements should be restored by several experts through the study and review. Furtheromore, it should also be reborn as the reborn dance in harmony with various stages and performances saving the problems of indoor Talchum performances.
