경조성 성격 척도(Hypomanic Personality Scale; HPS)는 일반인을 대상으로 양극성장애의 위험요소인 경조 성향을 측정하는 도구이다. 본 연구에서 이중언어자에 의한 번역-역번역 절차에 따라 HPS를 번안한 후, 일반인 총 230명을 대상으로 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하였다. HPS는 양호한 내적 합치도와 검사-재검사 상관을 보였다. HPS 총점이 높을수록 사회관계에 적극적이고 새로운 경험에 개방적이었다. 또한 경계선 성격특성, 충동성, 자극추구 성향, 과대감과 기분 증상을 더 많이 보고하였다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 경조성 성격의 정의와 일치하는 2요인 구조가 시사되었다. 이에 HPS가 경조성 성격을 신뢰롭고 타당하게 측정하고 있음이 확인되었다.
