The goal of this paper is to look at directions and opportunities for a new air purifier design for 2020 by analyzing the LG PuriCare 360 in terms of usability and UX. First we did product analysis to experience the LG purifier and finding any difficulties in using the product. And then we did user study1 with our users using Observation with instruction, Extreme user interview, and Collage methods. Through the results of User Study 1 and workshop, we created three concepts (bamboo like design, globe like design, and crystal metaphor design). And using the Harris profile, we decided on the final concept with bamboo. After making our final concept, we went through the user evaluation. Most of our intentions were well communicated to the user, but there were parts (Air- Emitting Part, Material, Some UI Buttons) that did not. We finally made up those parts after user study 2. As a result, we identify new opportunities for the new air purifier design for 2020.
