The main content for teaching Korean grammar in the present school curricula is mostly composed of the linguistic knowledge. Teaching grammar with this kind of straightforward linguistic knowledge has shown some difficulties and inefficiency in achieving valuable educational goals. Linguistic knowledge can only be the base of teaching about grammar, but it cannot suffice the whole content of language education. It seems necessary, therefore, to reconstruct the content of linguistic knowledge for grammar education in school.
This study suggests a way to reconstruct the linguistic knowledge for Korean grammar education:

o The content in general to realize the educational value of grammar knowledge
o The content to pursue the linguistic development of Korean
o The content based on the typological features of Korean
o The content to practically contribute to practical language proficiency
o The content through which leaners can understand the linguistic ability of human beings

Following the framework listed above, a new direction to reconstruct the content of phonology education is proposed:
o the principle of articulation and phonological system of Korean
- the process and principle of articulation
- the phonological system of Korean: meaning of the ‘phonological system’, the characteristic features of Korean phonological system
- the notions in Korean standard pronunciation rules o pronunciation and alternation
- the unit of pronunciation and alternation
- syllable pronunciation: Korean syllable structures and alternation
- pronunciation of phrase: alternation in pronouncing phrase
