This corpus-based study is to analyze the lexical bundles in two corpora, adopting both quantitative and qualitative methods, to achieve two main goals. One is to extract the most frequent lexical bundles in both Native Speaker Corpus (NSC) and Non-Native Speaker Corpus (NNSC). The other is to explore the differences between two corpora in terms of the frequency and the structural characteristics of the extracted lexical bundles. This study compiled two corpora from scientific research articles downloaded in the form of PDF from the online journals in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Each corpus consists of almost 500,000 words of the same scientific research field for the comparative analysis of the two corpora even if there is the small difference in the total number and the average length of the research articles. The results of this study can provide authentic pedagogical materials to both instructors and students. This makes the instructors improve their language teaching skills and the students boost their reading or writing skills.
