The purpose of this study is to measure and analyze changes in lower extremity edema, body stability and VAS among 17 standing workers(9 workers from a normal group and 8 workers from an obesity group) before work and after one-week work. The study findings are as follows. 1. When it comes to changes in lower extremity edema, both groups showed an increase in right and reft ankle circumferences after one-week work and there were statistically significant differences(p<.05). 2. Compared to the normal group, right calf circumference increased to 3.07% in the obesity group and there were statistically significant differences(p<.01). Both groups showed statistically significant differences in left calf circumference(p<.01). 3. Both groups showed an increase in body stability and there were statistically significant differences(p<.05). Mostly, it increased to 25.89% more in the obesity group. 4. VAS increased to 116.54% in the normal group and 164.23% in the obesity group and statistically significant differences were found in both groups(p<.001). These findings demonstrate that lower extremity edema, body stability and VAS increased more among obesity standing workers, compared to the normal group. Therefore, it is considered that obesity standing workers need to improve dietary therapy, increase physical activity, wear elastic compression stocking or massage legs themselves and practice lower extremity exercise in daily life.
