This study aimed analyse the public perception and respond on an ‘aging of Gangwon Province’ by the contents analysis of Gangwon’s two major daily newspapers. In order to 4,985 articles have been analyzed for 10 years since 2006. As a result, 1) first the number of articles surged rapidly in 2008, shifting from an aging society to an aged society in Gangwon Province. Unlike the national trend, it is analyzed that the social and economic implications of social and economic policies are highly recognized in the context of the national community. 2) Second, the recognition and response of policy directions including health, social participation, and living environment are actively reflected in the response to the aging issue. 3) Third, there was a gap between city level and County level regarding the aged social measures. In County level, the recognition and response of the elderly to expand social participation opportunities soared. In city level, awareness of the use of human resources was high. Thus, it was analyzed that the recognition of the policies of the policy was based on the degree of recognition of the aging population.
