This paper aims at the presentation of the life and main works of Martin Luther to theological students and preachers. On commemorating the anniversary of Refo 500, it is very relevant and necessary to overview the keypoints of Luther"s life and works. Although Luther was the magisterial reformer who founded Lutheranism and Lutheran Churches, he received great admiration from the reformed theologians just like John Calvin. So we who belong to the reformed camp shoud study on Luther, then we should be able to discern his strengths and weaknesses in theology.
In the second part subsequent to introduction, I have introduced what materials are needed to study the life and major works of Martin Luther. Because we may make use of the original resource as WA and LW etc and so many biographical resources, frankly speaking, we are in a better position to understand Luther very well than Luther"s contemporaries. In following third part, I presented the overview of the life and main works of the early period of Luther from 1483 to 1522. For limitation of space, I will examine and introduce on the rest life and works of Luther in another paper.
