Modern society has served to improve the quality of a human life by giving rise to a rapid change through the whole area of society due to urbanization and industrialization, but it also got to have a negative impact, such as machine-centered materialism and individual egoism, and destruction of environment, etc. Particularly, the elderly generation’s loss of value from society is coming to the fore as social problems like social exclusion and absence of communication, etc.
A senior community center, which comes to be required in the rapidly ongoing aging era, is in need of integrated interaction which strengthens spatial accessibility through integration with facilities related to senior citizen, and promotes reconciliation in society at large through the exchange with other generations using a facility as a psychological element other than simply a social exchange, or regional exchange.
As for the development of the space for diverse active senior community centers in preparation for the aging era, this study expects the development of an environment, in which social participation and the quality life improve, and the exchange with other generations could be revitalized by building space identity and re-establishing the role as a subjective senior other than an object of alienation any more through the aggressive expression of the formative characteristics of junk art, which comes to rediscover things as an object for new aesthetic expression, and the space characteristics of a senior community center for space design.
