Unification Education is the education about the unification and integration of people who lived in the different political, economic, social and cultural systems, with awareness of division structure that has been lasted a long time. In particular, the adolescents are the central characters to lead period of unification. The importance of unification education of the school in order to foster the correct awareness and objective ability for judgment of unification, the firm will to achieve unification for them is growing. In this paper, I will examine closely the actual situation on the basis of previous studies of these issues and a historical study on unification education of the school. I will also inspect the actual content and method of unification education of the school through the study. North Korean defectors have directly or indirectly experienced unification education of North and South Korea at the same time. Thus, this paper attempts to gain implications on improvement of unification education on the basis of fact and issues that they have seen in their eyes. This paper attempts to explore improvement plan in aspects of the direction, contents, method, teaching, and institution of unification education.
