The purpose of this study was to examine women"s nail care and satisfaction level with nail care services in an effort to provide accurate information on service marketing.
The women"s awareness of the importance of nail care was investigated, and they got a mean of 3.51 out of possible five points. It showed that the women considered nail care to be important. The major reason they got nail care services was investigated, and the largest group(38.8%) of the women did that to improve their beauty or represent their individuality. The reason they came to use the nail shops they used at present was investigated, and the biggest group(57.3%) used the nail shops because they were adjacent to their houses or offices. As for the type of nail shop, the greatest group(72.5%) preferred specialized nail shops(road shops). The greatest group(42.6%) considered the professionalism of employees to be important for customer satisfaction. Most of the women (79.3%) were satisfied with the services provided by the nail shops they used at present, but 20.7 percent were dissatisfied due to high cost and the poor professionalism of employees.
As people in general are increasingly concerned about nail care, nail care services should be good enough to make a deep impression on customers, and the professionalism of employees who provide nail care should be improved to make it happen. The findings of the study are expected to lay the foundation for customer-satisfaction services and the revitalization of the nail care industry.
