This thesis is aimed to the features of "gol(谷)" which is related to "san(A mountain) closely in Daejeon. That is to say, what form shows in the back morpheme of place name as an language and what their features are. what is dialectal features in the front morpheme of place name as a regional language and their features as the place name? In addition to that, what is the regional culture by the place name?
As the result, the first, "gol" is the most productive morpheme. The second, "gul" is originated from "gol". The third, "ul(울)" appears being originated from "kol" which is the historical phonology of /g: k: ㄱ/. The fourth, there is "sil(실)" correspond to "gol". The fifth, "go-rang(고랑)", "gul-meong(굴멍)", "gu-reong(구렁)" reflected the regional language are found as the back morphemes of place names. The last, the unmarked productive back morpheme of place name presents remarkably.
Next, the front morpheme "gok(谷)" presents the following features which are the features as an language and culture. The former is considered to old korean and the dialect in Daejeon and also the place name being different from the alternative of general words. The latter is considered the traditional culture in place name. A language reflects to culture not to apart an language from culture. Thus there is the legible culture in place name. Such as living cultures from Buddhism, commerce to a folk remedy, even charcoal, china ware. The cultural approach is the previous description.
