For learners, they can meet their favorite learning process and learning method, especially, learning style. As ‘learning style’is sustained and repeated, we understand different learners’ characteristics. Therefore, ‘learning style’ has been studied for a long time. In this paper, I will attempt to outline a learning style for Chinese language learners and apply this fact to Chinese language educational environment.
At first, I would like to call attention to needs of ‘learning styles’ study on Chinese language educational environment by quantitative and qualitative analyses from previous studies. Secondly, I will discuss the problems from previous studies and a limitation on those studies. I will redesign measurement tools for Chinese language learners. The remainder of this paper is organized as follows: At first, I will mention the need of integrated measurement tools which is used for analyzing various learning styles all together, also suggest new classification methods based on brain differentiation criteria. Secondly, I will try to reanalyze each existing question with measurement standard and simplify that question. Lastly, I will redesign existing measurement contents to the questions which are well reflected with learners’ characteristics. After this paper, I expect to make more practical measurement tools for Chinese language learners; furthermore, teachers can understand learners’ characteristics by using those tools. I hope those tools will give a great benefit to both teachers’ class activities and school counseling.
