From the 1st curriculum to 2011 revised curriculum, we can see the effects of foreign grammar, i.e., the occidental traditional grammar, structural grammar, descriptive grammar, traditional grammar in the high school grammar textbooks. At the area of morphology, the concept of declension still remains at the constituent units of subjects, and the definition of word “minimum free form” has been a cause of the difficulty of explaining the verb simple word, like ‘meok-ta(먹-다)’. Of course, a lot of grammatical subjects could be explained more clearly. For example, the concept of auxiliary stem could be overcome by the foreign grammatical concept of derivation and inflection. And the definition of compound word has been stabled by overcoming the problem of foreign grammar.
At the area of syntax, the classification system of sentence had followed the foreign grammar system of simple sentence, compound sentence, and complex sentence. But it has been changed to the classification system of traditional grammar, namely, Uri Malbon. From the 2nd curriculum, especially at 3rd curriculum, the effects of traditional grammar began to appear, at the explanation of modifier form of verb, passive and causative voice, and constituent connection, etc. It is merely weaker than those of structural grammar or descriptive grammar. The effects of transformational grammar are relatively weak. Especially, the textbooks which describe the inflectional endings as syntactic units are very unusual, except a few textbooks in 2nd and 3rd curriculum. This is the problem of opposing to the concept of conjugation of structural grammar, and it is a problem to solve in future.
