The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of remedial exercise program on physical fitness and PAPS posture assessment in elementary school students. Forty elementary school students were assigned in remedial exercise group(n=20), and control group(n=20). The exercise program consisted of remedial exercise program 60min/session, 3 days each for 12weeks. The results of this study were as follows: In change of body composition, height and muscular mass increased significantly(p<.001, p<.05) and fat mass, percent body fat(%), and BMI decreased significantly(p<.05, p<.05, p<.05) in intervention group. In change of physical fitness, flexibility and abdominal muscular strength increased significantly(p<.001, p<.001) in intervention group. Upper body slope(p<.01, p<.01) decreased significantly in left and right in intervention group. Pelvis slope in up and down decreased significantly(p<.001), and front and back slope in left and right decreased significantly(p<.001, p<.001) in intervention group. Up and down slope did not decrease significantly, but front and bach slope in left and right decreased significantly(p<.001, p<.001) in control group. As shown above, the 12-week remedial exercise program was found to have a positive influence on body structure, physical fitness, upper body, bent spine, and pelvis gradient. This study focuses on providing data base for preventing odd posture of PAPS assessment and helping active and diversified research and development of remedial exercise program.
