This study was aimed at providing for some basic data for exercise prescription and weight control methods. To this end, ordinary college females and trained ones(Bowling Basketball players) were sampled to be subject to a test whereby differences of EPOC between them after a 30-minute exercise under the condition of 70% VO2max compared. As a first procedure every member of the two groups were measured for their VO2max values using the incremental loading with the treadmill and thereupon. their relative VO2max (%VO2max) were calculated. Next. the sample student were subject to a 30-minute exercise the condition of 70% VO2max. Here, as EPOC may affect the diet. every sample student was urged to take no food until 10 hours before the exercise. But each of them were allowed to take 2 slice of bread(muffin) and a bottle(200 ㎖) of milk(both of which amount to 700㎉ in total) 2 hours before the treadmill exercise. The items checked wire heart rate, VO2 and respiratory exchange ratio. all of which were measured during rest, exercise(10. 20 and 30 minute) and recovery(20 minutes, 40 minutes, 1, 2. 3, 4 and 5 hours, after the exercise). The oneway analysis of variance post-hoc(tukey) were used for analysing the raw data. As a result of analyzing the differences of these measurements between two groups it way found that they differed in heart rate during rest and at 20 minutes, 40 minutes. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 hours during recovery, differed in VO2max at 10, 20 and 30 minutes during exercise and differed in respiratory exchange ratio at 4 and 5 hours during recovery. As discussed above. EPOCs were shown differently depending on `types of exercise. while those female basketball players excellent in endurance capacity due to training showed a higher EPOC than ordinary female students and bowling players. Such a finding may suggest that training helps to improve individuals respiratory and circulatory capacity, while having a positive effect on EPOC. Lastly, it is hoped that this study would be followed up by future studies which to into consideration such variables subjects` physical conditions and training period.
