This study is for infant color activities which focus on color image and the infant friendly animal. The author selected different color harmony schemes and color images in every single session to let infants express their own abstract images naturally. In addition, the author tried to find out the correlation between infant color activities and social and emotional development. To this end, the author chose 38 two-year-old infants from 4 different daycare centers in seoul and divided them in two groups, experimental group and control group. For 7 weeks, infants of experimental group worked animal focused infant color activities and the other group had conventional daily-life art classes. In conclusion, animal focused "infant color activities" have a positive effect on some components of social and emotional development such as basic emotion and social behavior, self-regulation. Thus, the research shows that infants of experimental group who experienced "infant color activities" made better progress than infants of control group did in social and emotional development. It means that child care teachers can be helpful to choose harmonious colors and find proper techniques in the process of color activities.
