The disputes on Cyan Grape, a poem by renowned Korean poet Lee Yuksa always exist in the Korean literary field. The essay discovers the relationship between Cyan Grape and Wilderness by studying the connection between Lee Yuksa’s composition and the classical Chinese literature. Thus the essay analyzes the hidden symbolism in the metaphorical devices of “the visitor in green robe” and “the superman on white horse” and reinterprets the poet’s real intention in Cyan Grape. Covering the representative ideas in the Korean literary circle, the essay puts forward the new point. The allusion of “green robe and white horse” from the ancient Chinese literature plays the key function of metaphorical device in the interpretation of the two poems. The title of Cyan Grape is the Korean pronunciation of Chinese character “the green robe came”. Both “green robe” and “white horse” imply the revolt and resistance. With the transition of these two key devices, there are “the ripe grapes”, “white sailboat” and “the cock crow in the morning” which symbolize hope and light.
