This paper explored the feasibility of psychological skills training among collegiate ssireum wrestlers as based upon the IZOF model’s performance profiling technique; the objective was to determine if this will help enhance their performance. The study was carried out in two stages – baseline and treatment. First, for developing wrestler’s performance profiles the researcher conferred with an instrument specialist and derived 16 factors in three domains: technical (5), physical (5), and psychological (6). Psychological skills training was divided into baseline and treatment steps with descriptively conducted contents; this covered three baseline and seven treatment sessions, for a total of ten sessions. The results for the psychological training were examined with regard to changes in the baselines of the 16 factors. Wrestlers were evaluated based on how much additional training they felt was necessary to improve across the factors; ergo, lower scores (i.e. less need for additional training) are more desirable. Outside of the technical domain’s “correct timing” factor, results indicate that the need for additional training in all remaining factors was lower than the baseline evaluation. Additionally, in-depth interviews revealed positive changes in problem areas that were identified during the baseline assessment. Accordingly, these results suggest that psychological skills training could be a beneficial component of wrestlers’ training.
