The purpose of this study was to figure out the awareness and preferences of small size houses which is a house of small scale households" likely to live. Social survey research with questionnaire was conducted among 1~2 people living in Seoul and metropolitan area. From November 1<SUP>st</SUP> 2012 for 10days with snowball sampling 102 data were analyzed by SPSS PASW statistics 20.0 using t-test, Chi-square test, ANOVA.
Findings were as follows. 1)The respondents thought that the standard of small size houses was under 60㎡. They thought that supply of small size house must be continued because of upcoming various households. They preferred urban location. 2)Preference of house size was 60~85㎡ of 100~150 million won. They preferred ownership type the best and Chonsei(전세) was preferred as well.
In conclusion, because of diversification of households it is needed to develop and supply various types of small size houses to resolve unbalance between demand and supply.
