The purpose of this paper was to find awareness and needs about User-charged Senior Housing to support the vitalization of User-charged Senior Housing. Social survey research using questionnaire was conducted among the middle aged people living in Seoul area from November 8th to November 16th. The data from 105 respondents were analyzed using SPSS PASW 18.0 statistical program. The major findings were as follows : 1)most respondents realized User-charged Senior Housing. Their main access was media like TV. 2)environmental comfort was the top priority in choosing residence for later life. Some of the low income respondents preferred economic factors than design. Facilities was the most highest preferred factor. 3)63.5% of respondents thought adequate age for entry was over 70. Suburban was preferred location by 71.4% respondents. Reputation of the management agent was the most important factor. In general, medical facilities had higher needs than other facilities. 4)intention to move to facilities was positive, but satisfaction of current residence and economic problems were the reason of negative responses.
