This study examines the early Literature of Dazai Osamu, especially in the relationship with imagination of flower.
First of all, this paper discusses the symbolization of “Memory” and “Love” through this literature. Typically, rose and chrysanthemum of 「Omoide」is indicated as the recollect of Tsugaru as well as place of love.
Second, this is an expression of “anxiety”and “suffering”in「He is not the same person as in before」
Third, autochthon is defined as the beauty of nature in pure fiction. The western garden is symbolized as the artificial beauty in the fiction. The character’s emotion is described through diverse flowers.
Lastly, the expression of Dazai literature’s birth and death in the novel called「leaf」is described via flowers and leaves. Each of flowers can be used as an expression of describing the human’s life as well as expresses the strong will and hope.
