This study aimed to analyze the trends and differences of community facilities in apartment houses of Korea and China by comparing their characteristics .
The methodology included literature review, case study, questionnaire survey, and interview. Literature review covered comparative analyses of characteristics, laws and regulations and trends of community facilities in Korea and China and actual cases in Korea and China were studied to identify the current status. Representative cases were sorted out for a questionnaire survey while interviews were conducted to cover the status of various community facilities and their proble ms.
Based on the results, the classification and legal standards for community facilities of the two countries are rather diff erent. In Korea, sports and education facilities are a focus of facilitation while in China, various cultural facilities are facil itated and their sizes are much larger. In both Korea and China, various programs, professionalization and scale-up, adjustment of working hours and appropriate costs were main issues to be dealt.
