This study investigates how Korean learners of English and native speakers of English interpret English verb phrase telicity depending on the English determiner types. Sixty five university students and thirty four native speakers of English participated in this study. Experimental tasks were conducted which included two proficiency levels of L2 learners (beginner and advanced), as well as native speaks of English. The results of this study showed how to change the English verb phrase telicity according to the determiner types in the sentence and indicated that actual behavioral interpretations of telicity are meaningfully influenced by the different types of determiners for both native English speakers and Korean English learners. Also the results indeed showed the correct interpretation of L2 English telicity. The findings are discussed compared to those of relevant studies and pedagogical implications are provided.
