Report Errors
In Korea, urban regeneration project has been implemented based on urban economy type and neighbourhood type. The scale(area) of urban regeneration project is smaller than that of environmental impact assessment(EIA) project, so most urban regeneration project has not been the object of EIA. Therefore, the impact of urban regeneration project could not be sufficiently considered at the aspect of socioeconomic factors, culture, urban traffic affairs, and climate change.
This study compares urban regeneration with EIA through the assessment items on socioeconomic factors, resident participation and governance, and climate change, and then suggests the desirable direction for urban regeneration.
