A photo-responsive liquid crystal network broadly refers a polymeric system that incorporates long, rigid photochromic molecules crosslinked to its backbone. Such polymeric coupling imposes an anomalous phase behavior onto the network, as a conformation of the polymer, or polymeric shape, is altered by distributions and order of the liquid crystals; the mechanical behavior is therefore determined by both nematic (uniaxial) direction and order of the molecules. In this work, we investigate the deformation of the circular specimen driven by nontrivial texture of the liquid crystal along with external opto-thermo stimuli; blueprinted by extrinsic polarization technique that imitate intrinsic disclination defect, the texture influences the effect of the stimuli onto the developed shape. A mechanical frustration of the network with hedgehog (s=+1) defect is firstly analyzed by taking geometric nonlinearity into account. In addition, disclination defect with higher strength (|s| ＞ 1) is simulated and compared to available experiments.
