This article dealt with Women poet`s strategy in late Ming and early Qing, Especially focused on literary quotation in the poem of WangDuanshu(王端淑). Literary quotation traditionally dealt by man-poet, and all the subject of the literary quotation was concerned with man, not women. So, when many women poets wanted to express something, they were faced with dilemma.
Even though many Women poet was not good at using literary quotation, but WangDuanshu had enough education from his father WangSiRen(王思任), so she used many literary quotation variously. sometimes she accepted her gender actually, sometimes she considered her as a hermit.
Above all, because of the downfall of the nation, she have a new understanding as wandering people. But ultimately she just was a women poet, so when she wrote a poem, always felt the gap between herself and literary quotation. Sometimes she used literary quotation in different meaning. This method, I think definitely broke fresh ground in female writing.
