The newspaper reports on the Great East Japan Earthquake and Fukushima nuclear plant accident which occurred in 2011 were studied, and they were investigated and analyzed by characteristics of contents, change by time, frequency to determine the direction and degree of social concern whether the government and the firms can take advantage to cope with the changed environment. In this study, changes in patterns and frequency of disaster-specific reports based on the time and contents of newspaper reports. After the disaster occurred, the largest number of contents were reported in the initial first week after the disaster and they were provided continuously until 10 weeks. More concerns were focused on the situation in now in progress, response and recovery, and national and international impact rather than usual coverage of prevention and preparedness, basic cause analysis in the frequency of each classified content. Since the most frequent field is economic and industrial field in the domestic and international impact in the relevant sector, the firms can analyze the effect of disaster toward the economic and industrial field using the media reports about the disaster, and the firms can have the ability to deal with business environment quickly which has been changed by disaster.
