This study is to examine the effect of technology cooperation as new paradigm for small and medium sized firms on product innovation. The degree and variety of technology cooperation are used to measure technology cooperation, and product innovation is used as a dependent variable in this study. Unlike the related studies, this study used small and medium sized firms located in Daegu and Kyungbook regions as a research sample, controlled for the degree of high -tech product, and included the roles of the knowledge management activities in the study. With 107 firms, the research results are reported as belows. First, technology cooperation of small and medium sized firms positively affects product innovation. Second, the positive effect of technology cooperation is reported in firms having the high-tech product, but in firms not having the high-tech product, the impact of technological cooperation is not significant. This study is worthy to provide the empirical evidence on the importance of technology cooperation to firms located in Daegu and Kyungbook regions. In particular, technology cooperation is important to small and medium sized firms that make high-tech product in the view of overcoming limited resources.
