The wearable device, which is the convergence of technology and art design, has a difficulty in representing the wearable characteristics on its GUI design, and in implementing the functionality with the limited GUI design, because it has been still followed up the conventional GUI design of mobile-phones. Therefore, the aim of this work is to propose prospective design trend of the wearable device"s GUI by analyzing the GUI design from user-experience point of view, using the smart watch as an example which is the hottest thing in the information-technology (IT) market. The results were obtained as follows: The experience design by Bernd Schmitt has been employed to extract "user-experience-design" factors of the wearable device GUI, thereby building an experimental model of a population. The inquiries have been created for the survey based on the extracted design factors, and then those questionnaire has been examined by experts. The survey has then asked a population in their twenties who are comfortable with the wearables. From the experimental results, it turned out that the GUI design, which addresses diverse shapes, display size, combined features and more, should efficiently satisfy the user-experience. From the analysis of the aforementioned results, it can be concluded that the experimental results should be able to be significantly applied to the GUI design for all other types of the wearable devices (e.g., smart class, fabric, body-implant, and more).
