Many Christian clients wondered if God had been present in their tormented moment of the sexual violence. In addition, the clients often experience God`s abandonment, God`s absence, and even God`s betrayal during their struggle against the trauma. This paper intended to resolve the dilemma through the study of God the Spirit: Is God really absent in the sexual trauma? In doing so, I briefly searched the theological understanding of God the Spirit, and James Poling`s pastoral theological understanding of the sexual trauma and God the Spirit. Then I reconstructed God the Spirit from my own perspective with the help of Elizabeth Johnson and Catherine LaCugna. Finally I argue the following: a special attention should be paid to God the Spirit in one`s trauma; God the Spirit is equal to God the Father and God the Son; God the Spirit works with God the Creator and God the incarnated in the healing process of one`s trauma. I hoped to shift our academic attention of the trauma from God`s absence to God`s presence.
