This is a study on Moltmann`s theology of disability. Moltmann provides theological reflections concerning disability through several of his papers, and his theology provides good ideas, methods, and frames to form a theology of disability. Moltmann never distinguished between a person with disability and a person without. On the contrary, he saw disability as an essence of all human beings, thus arguing that all humans have disability and at the same time that all are whole. He argued for liberation of the people with and without disability and the whole society from the erroneous ideology and life that distinguish and discriminate between those with disability and those without. In this regard, Moltmann`s theology of disability is a liberatory theology of disability. Moltmann talks about the hope of the Kingdom of God in eschatology based on the promise of God. This is also the fundamental theme of the theology of disability and the goal and power of social change. In the Crucified God, he talks about the suffering God who provides comfort and hope to all who suffer. In the theology of disability, this view of the disabled God provides comfort and hope to all with disability. Moltmann`s Social Trinity is mainly based on perichoresis, the loving fellowship of the three persons, and it is given as a frame of interpretation for all theological themes. For Moltmann, the loving fellowship of the three persons applies to human relationship, church authority, and society and politics. Moltmann understands the church in the work of the Holy Spirit, and he also presents the pneumatology in which the Holy Spirit works also in the world beyond the boundaries of the church. In the theology of disability, Moltmann`s theology provides a ground to understand disability as a gift of the Holy Spirit to serve the church and the world. In conclusion, Moltmann`s theology of disability is a theology of hope, of liberation, of trinity, of the Holy Spirit, and it provides the possibility of interpretation and application to form such theology of disability.
