This paper is presented to the 33rd Korean Christian Scholastic Conference under the theme, `New Church Leadership and Theological Agenda` In the paper, it criticizes the Korean church, which has followed secular materialism and capitalistic competition rationale. It suggests that the Korean church, and its leaders and theologians are responsible for this crisis. In the first chapter, the paper accuses the church of having played negative roles in the western and Korean history. It also criticizes historical examples, which have oppressed the weak and discriminated against women with fundamentalistic Bible interpretation and patriarchal church bureaucracy. This paper urges the church leaders to repent their past, which were led by conflict, terror and war, and to rejoin Jesus` proclamation of forgiveness, reconciliation, and love. In the second chapter, the paper accuses the Bible and its theology of being used to exploit nature indiscriminately and oppress Third World and colored people, women and the weak. It suggests the ways to return to the true peace and oneness by introducing new ways of Bible interpretations such as Black, Minjung, feminist, and postcolonial theology. In the third chapter, this paper criticizes church people who want to be on top. Because Jesus didn` t exercise his power to dominate others but serve them. He told us to achieve true peace through being a slave who sacrifices his life for neighbors. In the fourth chapter, the paper suggests new `serving` leadership shown by the women of Galilee who followed and served Jesus, not the traditional leadership practiced by so called `12 male apostles` . While the Jesus` male disciples fought against each other to take the highest chair, betrayed and ran away from the suffering of Jesus, the women of Galilee followed and served Him, witnessed His resurrection and proclaimed it. Therefore the author considers the Women of Galilee the real disciples and acknowledges that they achieved the history of service and true peace that Jesus wanted. In the fifth chapter, the author suggests theological themes that Korean church leaders should perform with serving leadership. She asks them to abandon shamanistic and materialistic faith, patriarchal priesthood and sectarianism, and discrimination, and to try to achieve true peace and unity by serving others. In sum, this paper insists that even though it sounds absurd in the world where power and material dominate, the service as a servant is the unique one to make the history of peace, light and life. This paper also says that one should not do theology with cold head, but by obeying the Bible and taking part in the way with concrete behaviors, which Jesus and the women of Galilee went.
