The purpose of this study is to explore the trends and indicate problem on the qualitative research of journals of sport and leisure study based on articles published from 2003 to 2013. We analyzed the property of research theme, method on all of qualitative approach for subdivision of sport and leisure studies which was history, philosophy, pedagogy, management, leisure, young children, adult, older, adapted physical education. With the trend of research type, the result of analysis of research method are as follow: First, qualitative research articles increased since 2008 and the press share is sport sociology(26.2%), history-philosophy(23.8%), sport pedagogy(23.8%), leisure studies(10.7%) and the research method share is general interview(54.8%), ethnography(11.9%), phenomenology(9.5%), case study(8.3%), grounded theory(4.8%), mixed design(3.6%) in adding to that Q methodology, laddering method. Second, we make group thematically total of 84 articles, collegiate physical education(5), sport for all(4), leisure sport(10), sport pedagogy(15), taekwondo(13), disabled person(4), leisure sport society(7), dance(3), sport leader(14), golf(3), pro-sport(3), culture(3). Third, qualitative data analysis share is deductive analysis(40,5%), classified analysis(13.1%), text analysis(11.9%), content analysis(3.6%), document analysis(2.4%), key-factor analysis(2.4%), etc. In conclusion, we had to try the getting to improve validity and to utilizing various techniques based on research theme used method properly. we need reflection and effort to contribute new development theory from the major far more than scientific interest.
