The good pedigree and talents of “Imakan” heroes are not like the heaven-sent gifts of the national and folk heroes. Those features are “Imakan” heroes" most natural abilities, which gradually advance through the heroes" encounter with the spirits and their participation in the intertribal warfares. After completing their final missions, the heroes of “Imakan” construct the ideal society. The ideal society in “Imakan” seeks for an equal community rather than a society with a vertical system under a nation. In Northeast Asia"s Tungus area, where the people believes in the spirits and pursues the harmony between human and nature, the heroes of “Imakan” are also featured as shamans. The two different aspects of "leader" and "shaman" are both reflected in one hero because the views of nature, society and nation in this area are different from those of other society that we know. People in this area believed in shamanism and pursued the harmony with the spirits. They sustained the social system of co-production and distribution while maintaining the form of clan community. They operated the clan community pursuing an equal and prosperous community without founding a vertical system of nation. That is why the heroes have both aspects of shaman and leader, while each pursuing the harmony with the nature and society respectively, refusing to have the royal authority.
