The purpose of dissertation was to establish the identity of Taekwondo`s colorful belt which have been used commercially. The study on methods of documentary research arrived at some conclusions. First, the origin of Taekwondo`s belt which is with the history of costume from the dim ages of antiquity is not clear. But the meaning of belt was the symbol of training the mind and the body. The belt showed off its commanding position as knighthood. Second, the constituting principles of Taekwondo`s colorful belt were five color theory, five decided and interfered color theory, and korean traditional color theory. According to the five elements of yin and yang, five color theory consisted of five different colors which were white, yellow, blue, red, and black. And five decided and interfered color theory was contextured ten different colors which were white, light yellow, yellow, sulphur yellow, green, blue, orange, red, violet, and black. Korean traditional color theory was made up ten different colors with rainbow-colored. They were white, yellow, light green, dark green, blue, navy, violet, brown, red, and black. Last, many literature showed to support the five color theory, white, yellow, blue, red, and black, as the authenticity of Taekwondo`s colorful belt. They were Symbol of order and showed the philosophy of martial arts as the resentment of Taekwondo. Therefore, this paper concluded Korean society of Taekwondo have to stop the commercial use of colorful belt, and then rehabilitate the spirit of Taekwondo.
